Challenge
The Coca-Cola Company has expanded its global vending fleet with a state-of-the-art prototype designed by its research and development department. Among the new model’s many features is cloud-based connectivity that allows it to generate data about its operational status. To enable effective monitoring and maintenance, a system had to be developed to connect the vending machines with those responsible for the product.
To meet this challenge, a telemetry system was developed that collects data from each vending machine and presents it in an online portal in a visually appealing and easy-to-understand format. Fleet managers can access the portal and receive real-time updates on various metrics such as temperature, turnover, and malfunctions.
In addition, the system also enables remote management of the vending machines so that troubleshooting can be done from anywhere in the world, requiring only a device with an Internet connection.
The telemetry system implemented by Coca-Cola has given the company a comprehensive understanding of each sales product, greater control over its fleet of machines, and the ability to access the system remotely from any location worldwide. In addition, the system’s ability to quickly diagnose problems enables rapid technical intervention, reducing travel and technical maintenance costs.
