Through the R&D department, The Coca-Cola Company developed a new prototype of smart vending machines to innovate its world fleet. One of the features of this prototype is to be connected to the Cloud and to provide data on its operational status. Therefore, it was necessary to create a system that would connect the vending machines to the ones responsible for the product.
The solution consisted of creating a telemetry system that collects data from each vending machine and represents it in an online portal where the whole information is filtered and presented in a graphic and intuitive way to all the fleet managers. The data is collected and presented in the portal in real-time such as, temperature, sales, and malfunctions.
Additionally, this tool allows the remote control of machines, enabling troubleshooting anywhere in the world, and only needs a device with an internet connection.
With this telemetry system, Coca-Cola has a deeper knowledge of each sales product, more control over the fleet machines, the ability to access remotely the entire system from anywhere in the world, immediate problem diagnosis enabling rapid technical intervention and cost reduction of traveling and technical maintenance.
