Challenge
In collaboration with AlticeLabs, a leading telecommunications company in Portugal, LOAD developed the IoT Connect mobile application used by MEO professionals, a brand of Altice Portugal. The project involved the development of two native mobile apps, available for both iOS and Android, that allows MEO to check and configure specific resources through a connection to MEO’s M2M Managed Connectivity Platform. The goal of the project was to simplify the work of field technicians by providing a simple and intuitive tool that enables quick responses and problem analysis. This was achieved by delivering a user-friendly app that allows technicians to address issues on their own, improving the overall user experience.
Our approach
The native applications were designed with key features that enable technicians to quickly search for resources, change communications service configurations (e.g., PS Data, CS Data, SMS, and Voice), lock or block resources, run tests, get feedback on network status and communications activity, and find resource information via a map.
In addition to developing the IoT Connect mobile application, LOAD worked with AlticeLabs to leverage their authentication and security processes via SDB (Service Delivery Broker), gain access to their services through the SMART2M API that powers the M2M platform, and ensure full interaction with their quality assurance and design teams.

Results
Ultimately, MEO professionals no longer need to use the M2M web portal, which offers a wide range of available features. Instead, they can use a fast and user-friendly mobile application on their smartphones and tablets that is specifically tailored to the needs of their customers. This project is responsible for managing the services of millions of users on a daily basis.
